Mid Summer bite

Flathead Lake:

The mid summer bite is in full swing. The afternoon bite is yielding a few more fish that the morning trips. Morning trips are producing some bigger fish when we target them, upwards of 20lbs. The afternoon bite isĀ averaging 8-12 fish per trip, these are the good eating lakers from the mid lake area.

Swan Lake:

The pike fishing on Swan Lake is great right now. The pike are averaging 6-10 lbs. The pike can be caught throwing weedless spoons and some jerk baits. Also on Swan Lake we are catching some lakers, bulltrout, cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon, a good mixed bag.

Flathead River:

The fly fishing is at its best right now. The river flow is down and is running very clear. The dry fly action is the way to fish for these cutthroat and rainbow trout.

Missouri River:

Wow, that is all I can say about the mighty Mo. This river has the largest population of trout per mile than any other river we fish. The hopper dry fly’s are fun and catch a lot of big rainbows and browns.

See ya on the water
